It’s time to introduce another Pegu Blog Certified Bartender! Our new inductee is Brian Shannon, who cares for the thirst needs of customers at Mitchell’s Steak House, at Polaris here in Columbus, OH.

Among his other fine traits, Brian has an excellent memory and even better situational awareness. Maggi and I ate there last night and never had occasion to get to the bar, which is across the rather large main room from where we sat. Brian recognized and remembered us, and made sure to stop by and say hello. He brought us a Pegu to demonstrate his skill and memory, and did a damn fine job getting the balance just right. That is just the sort of person we recognize around here!

So, my Columbus-based, and/or -bound readers, have a drink or dinner at Mitchell’s very swank bar, and have Brian whip you up a Pegu! Make sure you do it soon, so you can say you knew him when. Brian is also a stand-up comedian. Yes all bartenders think they are, but Brian gets paid for it. Ask him where to see him perform.
