OK, I found another booze website that is worth a little look, The Malibu Rum Bartender. Once you get past the inevitable and oh so important age verification screen, (Keeping Minors Too Dumb to Input a Fake Birthdate Out, Since 2002) just click on the shaker to the right of the entrance screen. You will be taken to a beach bar with a good-looking young bartender.

The website has lots of talking, carribean music, and excited shouts of Malibu!
from the moment you enter. This, of course, tends to draw my seven year old daughter into the office.
This is a verbatim transcript of the conversation that ensues:
Katherine: What you watching, Dad?
Me: It’s the Malibu Rum Bartender, Dear.
Katherine: Who are the people dancing in the back?
Me: They are the people dancing and having fun at the party where he’s working.
Katherine: He must not be very good!
Me: What? Of course he is!
Katherine: Well then, why aren’t any of them coming to get drinks? He’s all alone!
The lonely bartender stands at his beach bar, with his Pelican Sidekick (who want’s to see your coconuts), and an extensive menu. Click on the menu and choose your drink. You get to watch him mix the cocktail and run a line of dubious patter about the drink’s origin in high definition video. Some of them actually look worth making.
One piece of advice, keep talking to the bartender, or his pelican will get bored and start uttering inanities.
At any rate, it’s a cute time-waster, looks good, and actually has some very useful looking recipes.
(I wish to apologize to the blog that first tipped me to this, but I can’t find the post where that happened!)
