I was at our local winter arts festival, looking for some Christmas presents Friday night. I was discussing cocktails and cocktail-themed art with sculptor Juan Zavala (more on his work in a future post), when he remembered an article in his copy of the USAToday. It names a top ten list of Modern Speakeasies, in honor of Repeal Day.
I took a look to see which if any I might recognize. Low and behold, my man Paulius’s joint, The Velvet Tango Room is listed right there! Congratulations to everyone at the VTR.

I thought the glassware phrase was odd also. It was almost like he had read my post about you, followed the link to my post about Pegu, then conflated the two!
It’s great recognition though, you deserve it.
