I’m from FL.
Though I’m familiar with the cooler method, I once went to a shuttle launch party on the beach where the hunch-punch was made in (clean, new – or so they said. God I hope so.) huge garbage cans.

Instant insanity.

I still have a headache.

Hell, I’m from the south we and used everclear in our hunch punch, a fifth of Captain Morgan’s spiced rum, a fifth of everclear, a couple gallons of fruit punch and a bunch of sliced oranges and whatever other fruit you might want all mixed up in a clean cooler add ice and party on.

I know exactly what you mean, Eli. I drink my own urine, just because I like the taste. Hot and straight from the hose, so to speak. Why would I want to ruin it with filtration or charcoal filtration, or refrigeration?

Turning the stuff into Val-U-Rite is the thrifty thing to do. But you can make a right dandy lil cocktail with the Golden Grain itself. Directions as follows:
Take a 13 gallon trash can (new or somewhat clean), pour in bottle of GG, 2 containers of grape kool aid, two gallons of water, 5 bottles of fine wine (MD, Tbird, Boones,) mix in some sliced up fruit, a fat girls shoe. Mix, drink, drink some more, vomit, drink. Good for the pre-Hobo hunt.

Rainwater off a tin roof is hard to collect when it’s 5 friggin’ degrees outside. Box juice is gonna have to do!

In the sixties Hamptons we used to mix Everclear into any cheap Santgria wine. Get a good glow going before going out drinking. Good substitute for bash and it was portable for outside parties.

There is nothing pure in Valu-Rite Vodka. Maybe if you mixed the Golden Grain with rainwater off a tin roof, rusted.

If you want to try again, here's a recipe for gin, made with vodka. The Grain will obviously also work , though math will be required....

I’ve tried to make gin with ‘hobo killer’. The idea came to me as I was using Everclear to clean the ball bearings on my bike (WD-40/Everclear samey-same). I picked a few juniper berries locally and can’t give a recommend to anybody trying it. You might get it right the first time but more than likely you’ll finish off what’s liver before you get something drinkable.
