Major dude fail. This is one of the reasons I’m glad to finally be enjoying neat whiskey and rum. There’s almost always going to be something on the back bar that looks good and it indicates that you have character. Plus, if you get it neat, there’s no hurry to finish the drink before it gets too watery, so you can take your time instead of getting intoxicated.
