Thanks for reminding me, I saw this a while ago, and meant to look into it. The place is (er, will be) only a few blocks from my apartment, so I decided to give it a try. Could be a bust, but could end up being lots of fun, have to wait and see. I just became seatholder No. 134.

A bit of a risk for the seat holders. Will you want to go there enough to justify the money up front? Will it even stay open that long (the NYC market already has some stiff competition).
But I can see why it works out well for the owners. Another million dollars in up front capital isn’t anything to sneeze at.

Ed,
Well, behold the awesome economic power of this blog!
Let me know how you like being a seatholder.

That’s kind of awesome. It does seem a bit risky, as Jordan says. Who knows what the “lifetime” of the place may wind up being. A great investing idea, however.
