Virtually all major alcohol manufacturers have some form of responsible drinking campaign. It is good corporate citizenship and better politics. One of mega-distiller Bacardi’s efforts in this vein is Champions Drink Responsibly.
In conjunction with this year’s US Open (Tennis, of course… though I understand there is one for Golf, or elevator repair, or some such as well), the new face of the program is Raphael Nadal.

I’m posting about this here for a couple of reasons. I want to say a few things about my own opinions on responsible drinking, and how to achieve it with the maximum enjoyment. I also love Tennis, even more than Baseball. And finally, well… Rule 5 isn’t just for guys…

Oh my!
Er, that’s his Armani shoot, right?

You’re welcome, ladies.

So I wake up this morning, walk over to the main lodge seeking breakfast, and fun across the Brain Trust of Twam Wanker. Here they are:
Wanker Brain Trust
I make sure they know that I am a hopeless singles player, but am capable of taking care of myself in doubles. What does the Brain Trust do? They put me up against a formidable opponent in singles, who waxes me 6-0, 6-0. (If you don’t know tennis, that would be bad) In the afternoon, they have pity, and I am put on the bottom court, where I have a lot of fun, can play my game, run a round like an absolute maniac, and still lose in straight sets.

Tomorrow is another day. I cannot wait!

Sunday I played like a wanker, which I would guess resulted in an appropriate team assignment. Monday, I practiced (in the rain) and played like I am capable of. Felt Great.
The I got to play a doubles match at the end of the day with another camper, Alejandro. Alejandro played with Geoff Masters, and I got to play with Ross Case. I was quite full of myself after resembling a tenis player all day, and was really psyched.
We took this great picture before the match:
Fantasy Match
Then we played and I lost my feel for the game. It was fun, but I made the mistake of playing the player across the net, instead of the shot coming at me. C’est-la-vie.
